Why not on old comments?
Instagram lets businesses send one private message in reply to a comment, and only within 7 days of that comment. So we can’t answer older comments any more.
Comments that come in while something is wrong (for example an expired connection) are kept. As soon as everything works again, we still send them, as long as they’re less than 7 days old.
